What if I already have my own domain name (website address)?
Not a problem. For a one-time fee of $39, vCHURCHES has a redirect service that will not only redirect visitors to your new vCHURCHES site but it will also keep your domain name in the address bar. In normal cases, redirect services only 'redirect' to another address. In the vCHURCHES solution, your domain name will be programmed into the website and will be displayed in the address bar.

What is a domain name and how do I register my domain name?
A domain name is the 'www.whatever.com' that you put into the address box of your browser. There are many companies with whom you can obtain and register your domain name. Some popular ones are www.register.com, www.networksolutions.com, or www.godaddy.com. If you need help, call us toll free at 877-GOD-WEB-1 (877-463-9321). We are here to help!

How long does it take to set up my new vCHURCHES website?
It literally takes a few minutes to set up your website. It may take longer depending on how much information you upload and how much text you need to place.

Do I need to know how to program HTML or use special software?
NO! vCHURCHES is the easiest solution on the market. There are three simple steps to follow with easy to fill in boxes and a very intuitive process to follow. All you need is an Internet connection. It's easy as 1-2-3!

What does it cost?
We have 2 solutions:
The vCHURCHES LITE solution costs $199 a year or $19.95 a month.
The vCHURCHES CLASSIC solution costs $499 a year or $44.95 a month.
There are no set-up fees, no monthly fees, and no hidden fees. The hosting of the website is included. No pop up ads and no annoying advertisements. There is free customer service by calling the corporate office toll free at 1-877-GOD-WEB1.

What is the name server information I need in order to setup my domain for my vCHURCHES website?
A nameserver is a program or computer that translates names from one form into another. For example, a Domain Name Server (also called a 'host server') performs the mapping of domain names to IP numbers. The name server information for vCHURCHES is as follows:
ns1.vchurches.com
ns2.vchurches.com

How do I place audio/video clips on my vCHURCHES website?
Your audio & video clips should be 15 Megabytes maximum length, which is approximately 20-30 minutes for voice (FM quality 64 Kbps - Near CD quality 96 Kbps) or 15-20 minutes of music (Near CD quality 96 Kbps-CD quality 128 Kbps). This length is for acceptable website performance. Some common audio files are MP3, WAV, MPEG, MIDI, SND and AIFF. Video files are MPEG1-4, MOV, WMA, AVI, QT, MOVIE, RM. Simply upload from your desktop with a click of a button.

Can I upload documents such as permission slips, registration forms, or flyers to my site so that they are available to my church members?
Absolutely! You can upload Word (.DOC), PDF, PowerPoint (.PPT), .TXT and .RTF Files. They must be 2.5 MB or less in size. FYI, that is a big file! Simply upload from your desktop with a click of a button.

Can I upload photos?
Absolutely! Our solution automatically sizes them onto each page of your site so they do not need to be sized perfectly. All you need to ensure is that all your photos that you upload are in JPEG, GIF, or animated GIF format. These are web friendly file formats. We suggest that you convert your images into a 72 dpi resolution (400 x 400 pixels maximum). Many pictures are 150 dpi or higher but 72dpi is the standard resolution for websites. Doing this will make it much faster to download the images, creating a pleasant user experience for visitors. Your photo-editing software may have a 'save for web' option that will automatically format your picture to be uploaded to your vCHURCHES website.

Is there a limit on how many times I upload my pictures or change the text?
There is NO limit! Your vCHURCHES website has photo albums that can each hold up to 75 photos (20 for vCHURCHES LITE) at a time and they can easily be changed to NEW photos when you want!!!.

Can I just 'cut and paste' text from another document and put it into the vCHURCHES site builder application?
Yes. Our builder is comprised of 'easy to fill in' boxes. You can just paste in your text and it's done. Our EZ-Edit will also allow you to paste formatted text from a Word and other text editors into your website and retain most of the formatting.

My site looks really big on my computer but really small on my pastor's computer screen? What's the deal?
You are looking at the website in two different monitor resolutions. You can set your monitor resolution at any time. This has nothing to do with your website. All you have to do on a current PC is go to the START menu. Click on SETTINGS. Click on CONTROL PANEL. Click on DISPLAY. Choose SETTINGS, located on the top as a tab choice. In the 'Screen Area', you can now choose your monitor settings. vCHURCHES websites are optimized for a minimum resolution of 800 X 600. The higher the resolution, the more you can see on your screen. We recommend that you set it to what's most comfortable to you. Generally, you can set a higher resolution on a larger monitor.

Why are the boxes on my vCHURCHES website empty?
The three 'feature' boxes located at the bottom or right of your site are for three different content offerings: Verse of the Day, Announcements, Quote of the Day. On some layouts, these boxes appear empty if you did not add content to these pages. You can choose these pages in Step 1 of Site Builder. Once you pick these pages, you need to fill them out with information.

If I have the domain name www.mychurch.com, will my email address be myname@mychurch.com?
